We would like to thank Dr. Steven Lee for getting Lance's autograph and approval for auctioning the jersey. Here is Steve's account of how it all happened:
This jersey was signed by Lance in San Francisco, October 2007. I was attending the American Dental Association's annual session and Lance was one of the keynote speakers.
I was able to get access to the personal meetings following his presentation through my contacts as a delegate to the ADA House of Delegates. This wasn't particularly easy since even Dr. Bill Dorfman from the TV show Extreme Makeover was denied access.
I appealed to my contacts and Lance's PR people and explained my mission for the Foundation. Ultimately my wife Ramona and I were allowed backstage.

Once in line to meet and get photographs with Lance a PR person saw that I was holding yellow jerseys. He asked if I hoped to have them signed and when I replied that I did he said that Lance doesn't sign yellow jerseys. I'm not sure if it's superstition but he took them and said he would check. A few minutes later he returned, nodded, and winked. We were in!
We were able to get a picture taken and shake hands. Once we exited the makeshift studio the PR people had us wait behind.
Once all the hand shaking and pictures were done, Lance had us back in to ask about the jerseys and the foundation.
We talked for 10 minutes or so and he was very interested in our work for both cancer services and bicycle safety.
Please place a bid and help the Foundation help others beat cancer and stay safe on the roads.
