Drivers, please pass with care

Parkview Hospital’s Trauma Center, the city of Fort Wayne and the Ronald G. Repka Foundation have teamed up to raise awareness for bicycle safety along the city’s roads. A series of billboards with the message “Pass With Care” are already up across the city and will continue to appear during the next several months. The aim of the campaign, according to Parkview Hospital, is to remind drivers to be cautious around cyclists on city streets.

Parkview offers the following tips for drivers:

  • Stay at least 3 feet from cyclists.
  • When turning across traffic, look for cyclists.
  • When passing a bicycle, hug the center line and pass at speeds no greater than 15 mph.
